Help decide between v-seal 101 and hd39

I am trying to decide between v-seal 101 and legacy hd39

I have looked at a million post on here and I think it will be 1 of the two

I would prefer hd40 but it looks like it is only in 5 gallon jugs


I just want to help prevent oil stains in my garage that's really it

That is good news that I can get the HD40 in one gallon containers. After a lot of searches and advice I thought the HD40 was the best suited for my application but was not thrilled with the left over three gallons.

I went with the hd 39 about 2 years ago and it was a complete waste of time and money. I still have the dusting problems and a few brake fluid stains that I tried to clean after they happened without any luck. Hd39 also claims to help reduce shrinkage cracks which in my situation never happened. I really can't see any benefit from using the stuff

Fix, tell us more about your slab. Might be more here than meets the eye.
Is it easily scratched with a screw driver?

I have two gallons of HD39 waiting to be put on (if it can get warmer... got the coldest Feb in 115 years here). I chose HD39 only for dusting (don't care about stains as it will be below ribtrax/freeflow... but I really don't want dusting!!!

Beachboy, all of our densifiers supply this level of protection. This is the most basic level that folks contact us for.

The only reason this would not help control dusting is if you have suspect concrete, weak and perhaps sandy.

The hd 39 did not do anything for my dusting problem, at least no difference that I can tell.
I ended up putting down stall mats from tractor supply and I really like them. I can even sit on the floor to work comfortably when the temperature is well below freezing. Some folks think the mats are ugly but they are very practical and cheap compared to some other options out there. Oh yeah, no more dust!!

Both of the products listed above are good in the right application. Both are lithium densifiers. They are not what I would consider sealers. They resist penetration but do not produce any "build" over the concrete. Why not a good epoxy with a urethane topcoat for extra protection. No dusting with high chemical resistance. They will last a long, long time. Contact me if you want more info.
