Hey guys, all I have are some photos and so far google has not been a lot of help but I just started searching today. I'm just hoping someone can offer me a model number to research so I can figure out some more details on this lathe. I'm hoping the facebook marketplace poster gets back to me if it does what I am looking for it to. I notice it has a pretty decent unit of a motor on it it and it is belt driven. Looks to be a mini metal lathe. The poster included it has a overall length of 30 inches but no info on the swing and bed. Pretty sure it looks about close to the HF 5 x 14 mini lathes but who can really say. I wish I could get more info to go buy and figure out if it is a sound buy (and how rebuildable it really is but it just really looks like one of the more modern versions of the classic sears units from the 40's and 50's.

Here are the only photo's I have to go by.

That is the Sears rebrand of the Emco Compact 5. As the name suggests, it has a 5" swing. Plastic drive gears; not particularly well regarded, even by compact lathe enthusiasts. This one doesn't appear to be in very good condition.

Thanks for that info. I just found some as well and yes, 5 inch swing. Listed as sears part # 549-289000. Looks like I better keep on looking. It's even smaller than the mini lathes at HF, lol. Missing a few parts too from the looks of it.

Yeah the owner called me back today. Was a situation where he listed it on facebook with a call me only message on it and didn't realize facebook removes phone # stuff off the market place (sometimes maybe???). Sounded like it actually would be a decent starter unit but he's missing a lot of things and asking 500 bucks so its a little more than I want to pay for something I would end up having to make another project of I think.
