Hi, I have a 22 gallon CH WL660001AJ compressor that I got from a friend and it was missing the plastic key that allows the user to switch it from 'OFF' to 'AUTO'.

Currently is is set to auto, and starts when I plug it in. I would like to get the red plastic key ( pic 1 located in the middle right ) but have not found it online any where . A guy I work with said it is not good for the motor to keep plugging it in the unit by the wall with it on. Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

I cant help with locating the part your looking for, i do however know a heir of CH as his family owns or owned part of CH but i think, but am not sure that most of CH is now owned by Warren Buffet. Anyways the CH heir is a cool, humble kid, and VERY conservative dispite his famlies wealth.

Many equipment parts sellers refuse to deal with C-H anymore because they got stiffed on warranty repairs. Neither of the small equipment repair shops in my small town will order C-H parts for this reason. Therefore I buy my C-H parts from Sears Parts Central. But first you need to find a Sears compressor that used the same pump.

The two places I usually order from are ereplacementparts.com and toolpartsdirect.com. I checked both places and can't see the switch in the illustrated parts lists.

If it were me I would wire up a switch in line on the wall, a disconnect type thing.

I just got off the phone with CF, and they do not off the 'key' separate from the pressure switch. In order to get the key, I will have to purchase the pressure switch.

0021) Pressure Switch If your valve is leaking on the side of the switch, do not order this part . Order check valve instead. CW207589AV $71.33

I'm not ready to spend $72 for a plastic key.

Nick, just make a key and put it in place? There are youtube videos on how a PS works.

I tweaked my on and off PSI's a bit to maximize my 'new' compressor. Basically that lever acts as a spacer so 2 filament's can't touch each other when spring activated.... watch a couple u tube videos. You should be able to figure it out.

If a lever is too hard to do, even a small wedge would likely work. Push the wedge in to turn off, pull the wedge out to set to 'auto'

P

PS. The guys in the tool subsection might help you better.
