I had an extension cord that had a nice orange box with 2 outlets on it. Can someone help me find where I can purchase a box end for outlets to place on a cord?

You are not likely to find any listed devices for your application but Hubbell did have a back box for their quadplex receptacles.

For a lot less money you can build one out of a box like this:

With a strain relief fitting and an appropriate cover. Depends on how legal it needs to be.

Depends on how legal it needs to be.

This. Safe and legal are different things. Properly sized box, and decent size strain reliefs, you shouldn't have a problem.

I made a few boxes this way for an event I had. It was in a winery barrel room and I needed to run ~6-10 halogen work lights. The only outlets were L14-20.

A few twist lock connectors and a few lengths of 4 conductor rubber cord cord later, I had 12 "MWBC" circuits to connect my 120V lights to. Safe enough with appropriate sized cord, outlets, and balanced loads for a reasonable price.

Not sure how well those standard outlet boxes will hold up to being dropped on concrete, but real "pendant" boxes are EXPENSIVE !

I have used metal handi-boxes in the past.

Ya, Woodhead or McGill, the USA was built with their portable cord products.

Will last 3 lifetimes, but very spendy.

Just go with post #5 suggestion, stainless flush cover for durability.

And some good strain relief connector, not just some 50 cent 2 screw clamp.

Unless very light occasional use.

All available at Big Box stores. Marc
