I am on holiday as my UK mates would say in the Dominican Republic and our hotel room has these light switches. They are awesome, 3 switches in a single plate and they are motion sensing too. You can turn them on and 20 minutes later they will turn off automatically then switch back on when you walk back in.

Short of a home depot run while I'm here has any one seen them in the states?

I wonder if they are low voltage? I have never seen one like it but sounds cool, especially having the three switches like that.

Will not have a listing from a NRTL such as UL, CSA us, or other, not wise to use unlisted products & it's intended for a entirely different system.

I've seen the triple switches and I've seen motion sensor switches, but I've never seen both! NEAT FIND

I found the breaker box here in the room, found the bathroom breaker, but I cannot get the plate off. Don't want to snap it in half or something and have to pay 10000 pesos due to damage! And yes I live in the USA, Colorado to be exact. Guess I shouldn't have put anything about the UK in there, I just thought it was cool when my English buddy called it "a proper holiday mate.". I might see if I can get the butler to find me a ride to the mall. I'll check out the riteaid sized Ikea too.

I bought a mid-century modern house with a Remco system. The whole house is low volt and relays. It was a way to allow 3 and 4 way switching using mostly low volt wires and hiding the switches -- ideal for an open style mid-century house.

I know they use this type of system in the islands -- I have never noticed that plate style. It's an ideal system for block and stucco as the low volt wires can be easily covered -- keeping the line volts to a minimum.

Remco was not the only maker -- many brands including GE. GE makes a new system that allows for occupancy sensors, timers , etc. -- they market it more for commercial. The problem with the systems is they don't allow for dimming.

Flicked the breaker labeled bathroom and pried the cover plate off, which for the record I like because there are no screws , and when I started pulling the screws I got zapped. Nothing serious just a little bit like a 9 volt battery. That was pretty much that.

Ask the hotel to put you in contact with their maintenance department. They probably wouldn't mind pulling the cover plate for you to inspect the switch and may even have a spare they could show you.

I don't se how that green is the motion sensor.

The GE systems use a separate sensor - normally over the door in the ceiling.

I thought the same thing when i popped the cover off. That must be what the little square thing in the ceiling is. There is 2 of them one in the bedroom area and one in the bathroom. It could be all GE, I think the thermostat is as well and it also has a few sensors for occupied and doors.
