Does anyone know where I can find replacement pulleys for this vintage garage door system. The system uses weights instead of springs and the pulleys are pressed in place in a u bracket and the u bracket is bolted on. So the pulley and u bracket are a one piece system.

I saw lots of those in old buildings when I lived in Los Angeles. I'd think your best bet would be to search for old buildings with woven wire fencing around them--a sure sign they will shortly be torn down. Then do as I did... crawl under the fencing with a screwdriver and some adjustable wrenches and maybe a little hack saw.

Are there any "architectural salvage" businesses in your area? If so, contact them and show them the photos. They should have suppliers that would scavenge such things as they tear down buildings.

Maybe even calling around, something small like that might ship easily. Try looking into cities where they value vintage bldgs, like Portland, might make it easier. I've seen good salvage in Portland, Columbus, used to be one in Oakland, but the best just closed here.

So what is wrong with the ones you have that cannot be repaired? Look simple enough to repair.

I agree with above poster... what's wrong with what you have? old stuff was usually pretty simple.
and, if needed, something should be able to be rigged up to fix you up.
