So I'm in search ideas for a mobile storage solution for my dad for electrical supplies and tools.

This is his current solution. It's a mess. You can find anything. The mess contains wire, connectors, fittings, splices, wire nuts, pliers, screwdrivers, tape, a few cheap multimeters, and a bunch of other various supplies.

Any ideas? I've been considering something like DeWalt T-Stak. I'm not sure if that's the way to go.

I have 2 rectangular milk crates. One houses all the devices and breakers, the other stores all the boxes. I have another small rubbermaid tub that I installed cardboard dividers in to store all the cover plates and mudrings. Then I have a metal multi-comparment storage bin that holds all my fasteners, wire nuts, etc and a plastic fishing tackle-style storage bin for misc. rarely used stuff, like reducing washers, split bolts, lugs, fixture parts, etc. The final piece is a Homer bucket with 3 storage trays to hold all the connectors and fittings. All this can be quickly loaded in and out of my truck for side jobs.

For small hardware harbor freight has 12 and 20 bin organizers (im guessing same as that dewalt system just much cheaper)

I have one for some hardware and with the lid closed the bins dont move or spill.

They are on sale right now for 5.99 with coupon. Im gonna get a couple more and at least 1 of then is gonna be to organize my smaller electrical stuff.

Then a small 12 or 16 inch tool box for just electrical tools and a plastic tote for the rest. Or actually just clean the big box until its only tools then organizer box for small stuff and keep wire in the metal box in the left of the image.

ZAG now sold as Stanley @ HD. That's what I use. Life is 5 fold more enjoyable during projects.

Will post pics when I get home.

+1 on the Stanley and HF organizers. Not the most space saving arrangement, but it sure is a lot easier to see what you have. Saves time and reduces frustration. Cheap, too.
