I emailed Snap-On asking them about the KR4200 seris roll carts. I would like them to put them back in production as I want a new one in black. The responce I got from them was this:

I'll forward your email to the Tools Storage group in Kenosha. I do know that Kenosha listens to these kinds of requests and that if it's something enough people want reinstated it does happen. For instance we are reinstating the hard plastic handles for screwdrivers after years of having only softgrip screwdrivers.

Anyhow, If you got a minute and wanna help in the cause. Email them at:

This is the one I'm talking about if you're not familiar. I like that its not big and bulky like the new ones and is able to hold my screwdrivers.

Not hardly. The last list price on the KR4200 was $690. At that price, I am not surprised that it was discontinued.

Yeah I paid around $600 for the blue one. Not too bad I dont think. I was looking at the KRSC100 to replace it and its just way to big and $1700! I need my roll cart to be just that, not another toolbox. I know there are other smaller ones I just like this one more. The $600 seems fair.

That cart was great back in its day. However, it's been eclipsed by newer, stronger, better designed carts that are also cheaper. You'll have better luck finding one on Ebay to restore than getting it back into production.

ogbronc,

Your cart appears to be in decent shape, why don't you just repaint the cart you have. It would be a fairly simple project and much cheaper in the long run. You could also make whatever minor modifications/improvements (add magnetic tool bar, spray can rack, dividers, etc) you'd like at the same time.

I have a newer bigger cart but will be getting rid of it soon for something similar to what the op posted. Too big for a roll cart, dunno what i was thinking.

Great cart, extremely overpriced. 300 would be about right for that cart even from Snap-On. I have a red one over in my head shop. Bought it slightly used repo. just paid the balance due. It was the first cart I owned with a lid other than my Mac structual Foam cart.

I have one of the big Cornwell carts. It's a pain in tight areas. Smaller carts are still great for what they were originally designed for. Carts have just gotten too big. My cart is bigger than my first roll cab

I had that cart as a gift from my brother. The folded and welded endtubes/handles/wheel posts failed. The welds gave way, and the cart rocked front to back. I gave it away.

I feel the carts with the radius bent square tubing would fare better.

I want to use the one I have at the house and get a new one for work. I have thought about getting it powder coated black if all else fails.

That cart was great back in its day. However, it's been eclipsed by newer, stronger, better designed carts that are also cheaper. You'll have better luck finding one on Ebay to restore than getting it back into production.

I was a little pricy, but I still like it better than the big ones. I like the KRSC100 but have yet to see one in person and from the measurements it is huge! It's a little pricy as well. As far as quality the KR4200 has stood up to plenty of abuse and you can hardly tell. When I emailed them and got that responce back I just figured there was at least a good chance if enough people emailed them. Apparently enough people liked the hard handled screwdrivers so they're remakin them. I have the hard ones but personally like the soft ones better. So figured there may be more people interested other than me.

survey says. buy one of the newer bigger carts.

Not totally out of the question. I may have to if I cant find what I'm lookin for. I guess it would just take some getting used to.
