Help. Has anyone installed one of these

Greetings.

So I bought, what I believe to be a through-the-wall, exhaust fan. I got it cheap at an auction with the idea of installing it in a grinding room I am incorporating into the shop I am building. Problem is I don't know how the pieces are supposed to go together. Hopefully the photos came through on this post.

I assumed the motor and other guts of the fan would be contained in the center of the galvanized cabinet; sandwiched between the louver and cabinet doors. However the fan assembly doesn't slide into the galvanized cabinet. From where the holes are drilled it looks like motor of the fan hangs out of the cabinet and the louver goes....who knows where.

Anybody familiar with the components pictured and how they should go together? Any help would really be appreciated.

From what I can see from your pictures it looks like the fan goes on the inside of the area you are wanting to pull air from , the lovers go out side the room and the bigger Gal box with 2 doors goes on the inside so you can manually open and close them when desired. Please remember if you are pulling air out of a grinding room inside your shop the outlet side will have all that dust coming out as well. I would recommend filtering the air on the inlet side of that fan to protect the fan metal fillings can be hard on bearings and motor windings. Good luck.

Louvers on the outside of the wall fan on the inside the box may be from another setup judging from the dust buildup on the fan blades.

I did one about 19 years ago, the instructions came in the box.

The blast from the fan pushes the shutters open.

Test before you cut the hole in the building..........by the markings.........that unit might be 50 years old ?

Yes, the motor hangs out. Louvers go on the opposite side.
