Ok, hope i can explain this right!

I have my 45,000 btu hot dawg hanging where i want it in my detached garage but I'm having an issue with the venting.

I'm planning on venting up through the roof using type b . If i start off with a vent adapter which is about 7 inches long, i will not have the clearance against the wall to use elbow to the side and then elbow up to the roof. However, if i start with the elbow, (of which the inside pipe fits perfectly over the furnace flue pipe) i will have no problem with the clearance. I was thinking i could secure with screws and use vent tape to further seal. My plan would be to come off the furnace flue with an elbow to the side, then another elbow up towards the roof.

Would this be an acceptable way to do this or do i have to definitely come off the furnace flue with an adapter first? Im not worried about code, but would this be a safety issue? thanks. I would have to move it to another location otherwise.

1st off, how can you not be worried about code?
2nd, you have to mount it so your venting works as per manufacturer.
3rd, I'm guessing your gonna need some sort of condensate drain. So T with a drain loop?
4th (and 2nd) what does your venting installation manual say?

I mounted a reznor with horizontal venting. It was a pain as it needed cat3 venting but once I figured out what the manual was saying it passed inspection.
Just follow the manufacturers installation manual and not only will you be safe but you will comply with code, and your inspector will smile when he signs it off.

Edited to add, why 3 posts????

I thought the instructions stated you need a minimum straight run before turning.

Just move the heater further from the wall. It needs room behind it anyway.
