Help, How Many Tons & Brand...Please Help.

I got a bottle jack from my grandfather and I have no idea what size or brand. I need to figure this out cause it's leaking and would love to be to fix & use a tool my grandfather used for many years. I'll explain as much as I can about it. It's extremely heavy, I'd say maybe 30lbs. There are NO brand name markings & no numbers anywhere. I took some pics with tape measure hoping maybe this will help someone be able to identify.

I truly would love to be able to fix this. If there is something else I can take pic of, or measure that would help you to figure this out please explain.

I've used jacks that had a handle like that but can't remember the name brand. I'm going to guess in the 20 ton range for capacity. I'll give you a bump to the top. Lots of knowledgeable jack people here. Hope you get it figured out. Welcome to Garage Journal

first want to thank you fit taking the time out. I don't know much about these but I also thought it may be a 20 or 30 ton. But seeing how I'm probably going to need a seal kit, I think I need to know the exact size.

I've taken it apart and can measure whatever needs to be checked. I just need to know what part. I'm thinking once I have a measurement of a certain part then maybe that would help determine what size ton it is.

Please if anyone could try and help me figure this out. I truly would love be able use tool my grandfather used often. Thanks in advance for any help.

My guess is a 50 ton jack, Maybe 30, it’s hard to say who’s sticker was on it originally. It’s definitely a Import, The cheap handle and design is a dead giveaway. Possibly from the Torin Big Red line? Strongway? Regardless it will probably difficult to a acquire a “seal kit” unless your willing to source parts individually and even then based off a quick look at New price replacements... it may not be cost effective. Then again... if it’s your GP’s there are things more important than money.

You won't need to know the capacity of the jack to buy seals. They will just size them up to what the old seals were.

Again I would like to thank everyone for taking out the time. HiBall... thank for the info, it actually did look like either 30 or bigger ton jack. I also was thinking maybe it's import too.

I checked everywhere and couldn't find any numbers, so I'm going to try next to dry off parts and see if i can find a serial or etc inside or somewhere.

Crane... thanks also for the info. When I mentioned maybe I could measure something on it, to help get idea on kit to buy. You said "they would size them up" is this something i could do or should i take off one seal or all and send them out? If yes to sending out, could I bring them to local place?
