Help - Hyro Metal Punch

I acquired an old Hyro Metal Punch having never used one, old or new. I assumed (wrongly) I could figure out how to use it. I can insert the punch with the right die (I think that's the right terminology) but after punching a hole, the punch stays stuck in the sheet metal when I lift the handle. After some google searching, I "think" I'm missing a part that the punch inserts into and screws onto the threaded part (solid blue arrow) in the image. Is that right?

And then there's the purpose and right way to use the "swinging stop" (dashed blue arrow). The way the handles articulate on the two pins when opening, the stop can have no effect when the handle is raised.

Thanks for any guidance and enlightenment even at risk of a "duh" moment.

TTT — The punch is not attached to anything, simply free floating in position whereby the threaded (blue arrow) piece plunges the punch into the die. So when I lift the handle, the punch is stuck in the sheet metal.

Redhead — Yes, I’ve matched the punches with their corresponding dies.

Thanks to you both.

TTT -- I believe you are right and tried to describe that in the initial post. Thanks for the pointer and confirming. Now I guess I have to make one. :headscrat
