I bought this box a couple years ago and have yet to see another like it.

I bought it off a Snap-On dealer. It was a trade in. The Snap-On logo had been covered up and he was surprised when I showed it to him on his next visit to the shop. He could not I.D. it himself. The only stampings are Made In USA on bottom of the back of it.

The handles are chrome and extend out from the drawers. The large drawers have a latch on the middle inside of the handles. The smaller drawers have no latches. All the drawers lock with just the top lock key. The lower drawer lock was added later by the previous owner.

I eventually want to re-paint it and have the handles re-chromed. I paid $400.00 at the time. I also bought the Rem Line side box from him for $100.00. Thanks

I don't think that's a snap on box, someone probably just added the decal. A real snap on box (made after the 50s) would be stamped with the model number and year on the back side. The only boxes I've seen with the wide drawer on the bottom were Mac boxes, but the handles look different (from what I've seen.) I still think you got a great deal no matter who made it.

Almost positive it was branded as a cornwell. I think kennedy made them though. :headscrat:

It's not a Mac, never saw drawer pull like that, close but not that. Kennedy seems a safe bet, but weren't early Waterloo mangum boxes very close to that design too?

Seems that one pic of the Cornwell is exactly the same box. its the only pic of another I've been able to see so far. All those brand names are good marques so I'd take any of them.

The 'Snap-On' logo you see on my box seams to be the remnants of a stick on medallion like that of the Cornwell box shown above. I colored it in with a marker to bring out the detail. I'm happy with it no matter who made it. Thanks.
