help....icon bit ratchet socket set pic.

i have seen some pics where people have removed and or added extra parts into the box. more specifically, a 1/4 drive bit ratchet and extension similar to the old set.

i have searched to no avail but can't find them.

please post or link any pics even if they don't exactly match my request for comparison.

The new/bigger set isn't really a 2.0 (IMHO). It's not a terrible deal when you do the math and if you want need the full contents of the kit, but I already have plenty of bit-driving stuff and have zero value for SAE. On a killer sale I might get one as part of my grab&go kit, but not likely.

What makes the original kit super-useful is the ratchet where the extension is pass-thru, which comes in extremely handy on occasion (or has for me). Also allows for use as a T-handle which is also handy, all in a really small package.

Obv. HF/Icon is just using the same ODM as VIM/Toptul/Facom/etc.

On a related tangent, the VIM version of the bit ratchet is longer and comes with a 1/4" adapter bit that is even shallower than what comes with the Icon, allowing for a bit more clearance.

yup that was the pic. if i get one...... and that is an if. i would add some extra bits and pieces like that. i to like the pass-through feature that allows the ratchet to be turned into a t handle, used at any point on the extension or locked on the end. i have the smaller kit and use it often and would not want to scavenge it for the larger kit.

to the op of that picture. could he post another pic showing the actual things he added? a bit tough to see in the pic.
