I picked up a set of these at an estate sale and I believe they are Proto as I have seen one stamped Proto with the "AN-8506" code on it. Others have told me they were Snap On and there is remnants of red paint on all of them. Still others have told me they were WW2 Era Military made by Proto/Snap On and simply marked "US". Not sure what to believe . . .

-Wondering if anyone has info on the "AN-8506" code as it pertains to a brand?
-If so, does anyone have info on what I assume to be the series number. . . mine is "AN-8506-10" and I have seen "-2" and "-3" as well.

Here are a few photos of the same wrenches I pulled off the internet - mine are the same

I've got a few similar crowfeet. Large, multi-position drive end, and thin, flexible wrench area. Mine don't have the "AN" number, though.

Mine are Government Surplus, mostly Snap-On but there's a Kal in there, too.

They're not suitable for my needs. Must be intended to be used for tightening stuff that didn't need much torque.

Might be designed for use with AN fittings, with the "-(number)" referring to the size of the hose or line.
