Need some expertise to identify these sockets. got them the other day at a sale and I cleaned them up, but I cannot ID them! i would like to complete the set but I can't tell what brand they are, I have never seen these. The logo has a circle with SW insode of it and a couple other markings, nothing about made in USA or anything else on large 1" socket. Thanks for your help.

Thanks!!, well there is only 1 on Ebay right now, so I have a feeling that completing this set is not going to be easy! these sockets feel like they are pretty good, Are these good sockets or are these just not very popular and don't come around? I assume made in the USA? i just want to know if it's worth putting the set together?

Thanks!

What size are you looking for? I think I have one; but don't remember the size.

James, Walden-Worcester was an important brand in the early years of automotive tools; very important, even. Personally, I feel that initial high quality slipped fairly early and they became a relatively low-end tool.

I can tell you they were using that logo by 1962 and AA says they survived into the 1990s, but I would not bet heavily that the sockets were made in the USA if that stamp is missing from the tool itself.

The 1960s seems too early for manufacturing to have been sent offshore, but we can be certain it was happening with other famous brands by the early 1970s, so...:dunno:

I think your set is complete, James.

Many 1/2" sets would stop at 7/16" and I've never seen any go below 3/8"...

I've got an S-W 1/2" ratchet and short extension; both are in good condition. PM me if you're interested.

Thanks,
