Is this a harbor freight grinder? I picked it up at a garage sale for $50.00.

I'm going to try and weight it. It is heavy. I thought they had it bolted down when I went to pick it up.

it looks like a generic imported grinder. probably sold from one of those traveling tool trucks of the 70's and 80's. it could be really good or a heap of ****. if it still runs it was probably pretty good.

a pretty good test of any grinder. flip the switch on, let it spool up to full speed and then turn it off and time how long it takes to stop. it should spool up quickly, within a few seconds and it should rotate for a good while with little vibration. i have an old wissota and an albert lea that will free wheel for about a minute. if it takes them a while to get up to speed and the quick stop turning and have a lot of vibration avoid them. if they have a wire wheel on them that slows them down much faster but they should still free wheel for a while.

It says on it made in Taiwan. It takes a couple seconds to get up to speed but a long time to wind down.

I haven't found one. I'm trying to figure out what the wheels are on it. The one on the left is white and seems to cut without putting much pressure on the tool I'm sharpening. The other is the other way. I thought when I saw it I would just put different wheels on it, but they look pretty different then normal wheels.
thanks.
