Can you help ID this MAC toolbox I'm looking for aprx. year and model? I was wondering if they made a matching box on the top.

I had seen one that looked like it a while back but couldnt get any info on it.

Its mine I bought it several years back...it's in very good shape extremely heavy. Works good for me...just been curious about it

Doesn't hurt to check ebay occasionally for similar models. You may find some info out there. I've seen snap on boxes that are similar to yours that were made in the '70s.

Is there a way to confirm like a place where they would have put the actual maker...It all seems correct to me...Looking at the bracket behind the MAC emblem all looks factory built.

The side locker left side is actually a Matco. And not originally part of this box

So far the best I can come up with is that it might be earlier than 1970

seems like i remember seeing boxes like this back in the early-mid 80's

but iused to drink a lot back then....:beer:

I know the guy I purchased it from said he bought it used off the MAC truck and used it for years as an airline mech.

Just saw a similar box on the vintage tool box site. It was a Mac had a bigger caster and a little different handle on the locker but other than that it was the same...they said it was built in the 60s
