Can anyone identify this lanyard and what it's used for? I can't find anything similar in my usual outdoor or climbing references. The red balls are a quick release pull, and the larger carabiner end is marked Italy ASAI. 6 foot long, Rated at 600 lbs. No obvious label other than markings on the 'biner'.

Roger, too long for hanging stuff, would have to have loooong arms to be able to reach tools hanging from your harness! Gogo, not an *** or alt. life style-accessory. That was the first place I checked online! Sure seems like safety anchor lanyard, but can't find anything similar on industrial gear sites.

On Rigging Warehouse.com. Cool site, but nothing similar. Maybe I can sell it to my neighbors with the two Bernese Mountain dogs!

Closest thing I've found is this 'heli-tether?'. https://mistymountain.com/shop/mili...belts-tethers/fast-rope-quick-release-tether/
Since my blue one is all stainless, I wonder if it might have similar function, for sailing, rather than securing stuff in hello. I dozed off in on the floor of a helowith the doors open during an infiltration years ago. Luckily I had great NCOs who taught me all about using 'dummy cords' to secure my gear!

Found it! Sailing tether, from West Marine. Sells for $109.00. I paid $1.50, thinking it was climbing gear-I don't sail, and unlikely to fly in open door Helios anymore. I'm thinking I should try to sell it! Thanks to all for your input!
