Help identify please.

I inherited my brother-in-law's tools 25 years ago. He was an aspiring mechanic and worked mainly on original VW Beetles and the occasional BMW or Porsche. He left his life and possessions a scattered mess and it was many years before I was able to assemble and ID most of his stuff. These pieces are the only things that I can't figure out and they may or may not even go together. The three pieces are SAE threads and the 5 piece set is metric. Any ideas? Thanks.

I'll probably toss them in the recycle bin. It's just that they look so darn well made! Lol

I wouldn't toss them out. The long screw in the first image (and the round disk with the knurling around the outside perimeter) look like they could be pieces of a small gear puller.
My best wild guess, anyway.

Most German stuff does not have wheel studs, the studs are on the lugs. That makes putting wheels on a bit challenging. Just thread one or two of those things on and your job just got a million times easier.

The 1st set has a forcing screw that is probably useful with a number of pullers. It will be hardened steel and worth keeping around. The other threaded piece looks like the contact end of a puller. Most of mine don't thread in they just slip in which that one should also do. The thumb screw? I keep this kind of stuff in a junk drawer for you never know what. It doesn't take up much space.

You are the man, thanks! Thanks to the rest of you also. I wanted to give a bit more info on the large piece too. It apparently is some sort of extension because one end is male and the other is female with matching metric threads. It looks like it was wrenched on (or off) with an adjustable wrench at some point as it has a bit of damage on the edges.

Snap-On makes them for pretty much all cars with studless wheels.
They are worth every penny. Oh and you only need one per wheel.
