Help identify stainless or not

I am putting cedar shingles on my house and am using staples to install them. I have a bunch of staples and would like to know if they are stainless. How could I tell. They have a blue color to them. Here are a couple pics.

See if they are magnetic. It is not a definitive test but if they are not it is most likely stainless. Some stainless types are still magnetic so like I said it may still be stainless and magnetic.

marine quality SS is not magnetic. but as K13 said lower grades can be. somewhat.

The blue is just the adhesive that holds them together. Break a couple off,put them in a cup of salt water overnight,take them out wet and lay them on a piece of printer paper. My money says they will leave a rust stain. Ive got both narrow and wide crown staplers and they look just like that.

Thanks for the responses. To be safe I bought some ss staples today.
