help identify this aluminum box

i know i have seen pics of one of these here. what was it for originally? who made it? anybody else have one?

heavy latches, rubber feet on both sides and bottom, lids lock closed and open with aviation style locks.

approx. 18 x 11.5 x 4.5 inches.

It looks like something a sign painter might use to carry his supplies or maybe a pin striper's box. Just a guess,though.

i know somebody here has one. it was in a small tool box or small tool kit thread. one of those thread that had a lot kra 65c boxes in it. my google fu is usually pretty good but i can't find it.

They went to a lot of trouble to be able to use the separators as a carrying handle.

That looks like something the military might have used.

There was a case posted on here before that turned out to be a case issued to technicians for some branch of the military. The case turned out to have been manufactured by Huot. That case isn't the same, but the way the section covers lock together upright makes it look like it could have been used for a similar purpose if fitted with tool holders.

Cool looking case, whatever it was made for.
