Help identify this old cabinet

I acquired this cabinet from a family member selling his house. It was my grandfather's, the earliest memories I have seeing it in his shop is 1964ish. As a child I spent hours and hours rummaging through those drawers finding treasures. I thrilled to have it and will find a spot in my shop one way or another.

I am hoping someone can tell me what it was and/or where or it was used for. The latches make me think some kind of mobile cabinet. Some of the drawers have file dividers others are just box like with no dividers.

It looks like a larger version of two smaller ones I have that came from an old army weapons vault.

There was some discussion in the vintage tools section of the forum recently about that style of cabinet, it is military. Post pictures of it there, a couple guys (private lugnutz and zepher11) are big on military stuff and they can probably tell you more than you need to know about how it was used.

I agree some type mobile cabinet. Maybe for use inside van?
