Could you tell me how the Release is connected at the base where it meets the Hydraulic Unit? In other words when you spin the Knob how does it relate to the Unit? By a straight piece of metal, with Gears on each end? or a flexible shaft?

Well now I don't have to post pictures of my jack, which is exactly like that one. Unfortunately, I don't have a clue as to what brand it is either. The release valve sticks straight out the back of the power unit. It is hex shaped on the end, about 3/4 inch. I'm not sure if it is a nut or is machined with the shaft. The joint mechanism is missing on mine, so I'm not much help with that. Dad always used pliers to turn it. The origional paint was orange, or maybe bright red. My best guess would be Hien Werner.

I figured that was the type of joint mine had. We will have to wait for an answer form one one of the experts on a brand and model.

Ive sent the pictures off to a couple of my suppliers/friends and i havent Hit paydirt yet. There is alot of HW characteristics including the saddle, Handle Position lever, Release mechanism but there is also alot of things that scream NO Way.. including the 4 bolts (each side) that hold the Unit in place and the Unit itself along with the Handle assembly (almost resembles a Watco/viking/coats style). I do know that HW made a "L" Series Jack that was a short production run. I have No breakdowns of this jack and Know very little about it. Do the Pumps have compression nuts on the outside that are tightened by Spanners?

I actually did mean the pumps but thanks for taking a picture of tha ram end also. My gut tells me it's a Viking/watco. There isn't enough hein Werner characteristics for me to call it the L series. It looks like a quality unit regardless. Does it work?

Yes it works but only in the low speed (we think its supposed to be 2 speed )
maybe we are wrong,
i suspect someone opened it up and may have misplace a spring or ball bearing,
maybe we can get a exploded view somewhere with the brand name
thanks again for your time
