I got this sheath at a garage sale and don't know what it was used for. I hope someone can help. It's ~9.5" tip to handle loop, ~1.25" wide symmetrical molded blade void in the pocket, and ~5" blade pocket length. It has a touch-up sharpening stone, and thin brass formed sheet metal protective plates at the blade tip front & back which are open at the tip. It looks to have been used a lot for many years. The symmetrical pocket makes it look like it was for a dagger, but I don't know that a dagger would have been sheathed in such a utilitarian design or would have seen the obvious heavy use this one looks to have seen. Anyone know what it was for?
