I have one that's similar, if I remember correctly it's from 1965. There should be a model number stamped on the back or the bottom.

Got this for 5 bucks and gonna restore it , of course the tray is missing but I'll find one.
Cool box George. Even cooler price!😁😎

If it’s a 65, it matches my year as well. If you’re able to discern the model number could you please post it here if possible?

If you’re going to use an aerosol , my understanding is that Rustoleum Gloss Apple Red is a near perfect match to vintage S-O red.

I’ve also heard great things about the new “toolbox red” from the Rustoleum Farm and Implement aerosol lineup.

Good luck. Please keep us posted on your progress if possible!

Stay safe,

Shawn

Toolbox Red: A random internet field sample as applied to the paper towel mount, vs a vintage box (as backdrop for color comparison) and Rustoleum’s Can.

I've always used safety red. But I look into it.

Now for the whole story, I had just finished a job hanging cabinets and one of my quick grip clamps finally committed suicide, needing another I saw a post on fb mktplc, that had a newer one to replace the one I had. So early the next morning I goto the sale and there was the tool I needed, a 24 inch Irwin. He came at me for 20 and I came back with 15. He agreed. So I was going to pay and I see at the bottom of a stack of small hand carry boxes this snap on. I asked how much for the boxes and he said from top to bottom 20 , 15. And 5. I about fainted, knowing it is way more valuable than the other two plastic boxes combined. I said ok I'll buy the bottom one for 5. I fished it out and you know the rest of the story.

Even older than I thought. The handle looks to be in decent shape too - you can probably use some polish to remove at least some of that rust.

Handle is now shiny thanks to my 3m scotch Brite white roloc disc, and Milwaukee 90 degree cordless die grinder. . I may have found a tray for it as well. Im going to go see now. Wish me luck. ( spotted in the back ground of a yard sale ad on marketplace.)
Keeping fingers crossed

I have this old SnapOn Rolla-Bench Roller Cabinet that's Listed in a 1954 SnapOn Catalog. It's 18" deep by 34" wide and 32" tall w/o wheels. Nine drawers with an roll top desk front cover. Once again this came with the purchase of a 120 year Buick about 15 years ago thinking I'd restore it. Sadly I always have too many projects awaiting...
