Help identify this

Can someone verify what this is? I think it is a bead breaker for tires, but I haven't found this design on the web, so I may be calling this by the wrong name. The handle at the bottom can swivel around as you turn the crank for positioning. It weighs about 40-45 lbs. It's in the process of being cleaned up as it was rusted in a stuck position. The screw is headed for an electrolysis bath.

Absolutely correct. I worked at some sawmills when I was younger.

If you get a chance to visit a antique working sawmill you’ll see how they’re used. Here in northeast I like to go to a well known antique machinery show and they have a working Lane sawmill and they have a similar log dog setup. Try YouTube and type in Zagrays sawmill in Colechester,Ct. Definitely some cool stuff.[emoji6]
