Just curious about maker and purpose. Has what seems like a harder vinyl top and small angled shelves. Would be interested in what the storage was meant for.

Also has pull type rings to latch and open.

Thanks

I'm kind of guessing, but the decal on it leads me to think it looks like an old 70's 'Tune Up" base cabinet for an auto service station. The vertical bars might have held a shelf or extended up to an upper bank of equipment: ignition analyzer/dwell/tach. There may have been a distributor machine on top of the base. Angles shelves for sparkplugs, points, caps, etc.

Sun was one maker. Niehoff, maybe?

I picked up one of those a few years ago. They have lots of storage cubbys!

It is the base for an Atlas AMA-9 Motor Tester. This is a tune-up and troubleshooting unit that competed with the Sun line. Here is a photo of the complete unit that I found by searching the Internet:

Nice. Trying to figure out what to use it for. Probably air tool storage.
It does have a lot of storage but you need to be able to get to all four sides to utilize them.

Thanks
