Hello
I have come across a couple of these in my workshop and I can not identify them. I don't know if they are a tool or a part of a tool. Or maybe not even tool related.
Anyhow, the black part is like bakelite, which has a brass insert and the light coloured aluminum threads in. The aluminum has a notch in the end. I am attaching some photos.

Thanks in advance

Chris

^ That was exactly my thought when I first saw the photos. Those handles look to be a bit skinny for a hand-held tool. The slots are so narrow I can't imagine what sort of "wing nut" would fit.

The aluminum end unscrews from the handle, and it is very light aluminum, you wouldn't be able to put much pressure on the notch. So I don't think you can pry with it. It's more like a locating slot.
