I collect unique tools, and have actually never come across a wrench set like this, found it at a pawn shop in the bucket bin for 75 cents. had to get it, but can't find it anywhere online. Don't know what it's officially called. Your help would be greatly appreciated, don't like being a dope when someone asks me what it's called. Thanks in advance, guys!

Its officially known as a "paper weight", much like a dog bone wrench or battery powered crescent wrench. Just another gimmick set of multiple wrenches slaved together, although I could possibly see some utility in a very limited amount of scenarios.

Are they stamped "China" on the back, can't quite make it out...

It's a snow tire chain for a Radio Flyer little red wagon...

Whatever it is, it looks pretty cool, don't know about function, but cool for sure!

It's a wrench for multi sizes and for making your own offset. you fold it flat for ordinary use, (with the proper size sticking out, and when you pull on it, you get torque as the "chain" won't bend that way.

I've seen pics, but never used/handled one. I tend to agree, it's a gimmick, but I don't think it was made in China, or even the Pacific Rim; it was here or Europe is what I seem to recall.

It's actually quite ingenious, if somewhat useless for most situations.

When folded flat you have 2 different sizes of Open End wrenches. Roll to the next tread for the next 2 sizes.

Pretty cool idea but not much use for it as it would be pretty bulky. Probably pretty good for a vehicle tool kit or for traveling with for emergencies.

Yea, It's stamped China, and it feels cheap, I agree on the gimmick part, It's just a pretty neat little tool. I definitely wouldn't have bought one new, but I work at a pawn shop (warehouse) and this was in the bucket bin. I like collecting unique tools like this, (separate from my big tool set). I get all my tools for dirt cheap. Employee discount, along with first dibs before it hits the sales floor.

I think from dim memory those infested the junk gift catalogs about 20 years ago, like all the other "Wonder tool replaces 897 sockets and wrenches" things out there. I would give it a solid A+ in the area of useless cleverness.

One day many years ago I had to take a trip and on the plane they give you those flyer magazines that you can buy products from; well somewhere in the tool section I found an ad for that tool. I seem to remember a very expensive price but then everything in that catalog was very expensive!

That definitely doesn't look like it would hold up to serious work, but might be nice to toss in some sort of a travel bag for light emergency work. Maybe. Probably not.

That said, I still think it's cool and now I want one. I have an illness.

I have a bulkier version of that. I call it a chain wrench, mainly because it is made of links.

It lives in a wood box with 4 dogbones, folding wrenches and all sorts of useless tool like objects.
Th B+D electrtic adjustable is one of the more useful of the lot, it does work well in grit free workshops.

It is a patented USA chain manufacturers wrench.

I have one , no details on it, Rusty found me the patent on the old Tool Talk site
