I got this air compressor when my wife's grandfather passed away. I am trying to identify the model of the compressor itself. Based on other threads and resources from other forums, it seems to be narrowing down to Quincy, E.L. Smith, or Sanborn. I have no idea however and none of the images of the various models from each maker seems to perfectly fit. Unfortunately, there is no longer a manufacturer's I.D. plate on the compressor and I have no idea how long it has been missing. It was not on the machine when I found it. The only info I have found on the machine itself, it the number 104 on the cylinder case (stack, tower, thing? Not sure of the correct terminology).
I tested the machine for about 15 seconds to see if it would actually build any pressure, and it did, at least to about 20 psi. I didn't go any further.
I would like to attempt to restore this thing, maybe as a present to my father-in-law, who used it to paint cars back in the 70-80's.
Other relevant information, maybe:
Original owner was an electrician and seems to have made several modifications to the system.
We also got a 1962 Delta-Rockwell band saw (model 28-100) at the same time as the compressor, so it may be from around the same time
