I picked up the older scissor lift over the weekend. I’ve only ever used inground old school and two post surface at jobs I’ve had . This is my first of this type and for ME lol . My first vehicle was a my sons Sentra . I think I’m using the lift backwards because if it was RWD that had driveshaft hanging down it might come in contact with the one of the lifts crossmembers ? Am I thinking correctly? The guy I brought it from added rollers on the end so when the lift is up they come in contact enough so he could move his stock car chassis. I’ll leave them in place but I think there was a spot to lift that end with the pump unit . On that same end on there are square tubing , not sure if these were factory, which they look like but what might these be for? I didn’t get any paperwork nor is there any names on it . Here’s a few pictures, my neighbor who helped me get it off my truck and the wife bringing up coffee and checking out “ more **** “ that I brought home . Thanks in advance Al

You might find clues on the ram itself. It looks like there are labels on it as seen in picture #4. If I had to guess, it's an import from China or Taiwan. Weld quality is one of the clues to sort out the origin if you're left with nothing else.

One thing you might want to invest in is some sort of safety mechanism while you're under a car that on this thing. I've never liked these sketchy lifts for a multitude of reasons.

I’ll look at the ram like you suggested. Are you saying you would want tall jack stands ? There is a locking arm next to the ram though only one position

A friend of mine had one of those in his shop. It was only used for brake work, body work and other jobs that you didn't have to get underneath. They're not meant to be used for any job that you're spending much time under a car or doing physical work that's going to make the car rock at all.

Thanks for all the responses! I did not find the exact manual but I did see when the tow hitch was probably welded on . Still didn’t find/see what the square tubing might have been used for ( in picture 1 ) Pretty happy so far ,I’m thinking of making a plywood top because I repair tractors , motorcycles and equipment that having it raised to a workbench height will sure make things easier !

I figured out those square tubes on the end I was asking about in the first picture . That was a crossmember that someone cut out taking the hitch spot along with it lol. After only having a short time I did brake shoes , rotors and pads , oil change on my sons car , we have two small Yamaha snowmobiles which I wanted to get running , they were both on wood pallets , put the on crosswise with the Kubota . After getting them going one needed some front suspension repaired from heavy teenager use lol . Oil change & rotated tires on my wife’s car . I told my wife I should have gotten a lift like this years ago , it’s so handy . I installed quick couplers on the hydraulic hose at the lift end , not sure if there was one there originally
