I have this old drill, and was hoping that someone could tell me what model/type Makita it is. The label is too badly worn for me to make out all the numbers. All I can make out is a 630 and looks like L.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Black bar is a depth stop, for drilling a set depth into the work, you don't need it.
They have been making these for a long time so there is bound to have been changes over the years.
Mine, the switch is a rocker that does forward/reverse on the same switch, is yours like that?
Good drill though, I use mine with the angle attachment for drilling joists.

My switch just works one way, foreward...it's a trigger type. I wish I had the case LOL! My deceased father was famous for throwing the cases away.
