Help identifying Old specialty pliers?

Found these old pliers and don’t see a brand anywhere, I cleaned them up and found “Vigor Germany” and I think it says “P1-53”

No brand and not sure what they are used for

Anyone familiar?

Vigor is the brand. Competitor to Damascus, Dixon, Arrow, and several other premium specialty pliers brands that come to mind. It's in a family of tools made for opticians, jewelers, orthodontists (who now only use stainless), and perhaps typewriter repairmen or other trades that work with bent wires.

Vigor (now Grobet USA) is the maker of these pliers. They make (or made in the past) jewelry/watch and optical tools etc.

model PL-53, made in Germany

I have no clue how they are actually used. I think they squeeze (fold) the tabs on the earring back onto/over the posts on the earring or vise-versa (depends on how they are made). Forming a hinge. OR they might squeeze the wire for "omega" style backs, letting you get the wire between the post holes? I just avoid clip on earrings or just use other pliers.

FYI "Grobet USA" is the company name, the "USA" is to denote that they SELL in the USA, they are not an american company. Good products though, I have lots of their jewelry making supplies and tools.

My Father sold tools for the jewelry trade along with supplies; among the many companies he sold a lot of vigor tools and their products.
