Hi GJ, I need your help with an old toolbox. My dad was a diesel mechanic for 30 years with tons of Snap-on and Mac stuff. When I asked for a toolbox he have me this one instead of his snap on roller. He's not ready to part with ithT one yet.

I can find no markings or stampings anywhere on it and want to restore it. All I know is it seems to weigh about as much as a Volkswagen.

Thanks

I think this box was made for several companies and they would have their badge attached to the front. The most recent one was a P and C badged box in very nice condition. The thread was started by Jabberwoki if you want to search for it. There are some good pictures of it there. I think a lot of these were made with various handle and compartment configurations. As for who made it, I have seen several different answers, so I am not at all sure about that.

What size is it? That seems deeper front to back than the typical 12" top box.

It is 12" deep. My small workbench might make it look larger. Width is 25.75".

Does it have holes wear a emblem was?
No holes. Some residue from a round sticker on the lower right front of the box. Not sure if that was the original "brand" sticker or something my dad slapped on there many years ago.

Thanks for all the helpful replies.

I think Waterloo made that box. The style of the handles is classic Waterloo. I have a waterloo made Proto box with the same handles and drawer styles

I found it here: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=164175. Looks like the same box except my carrying handles are a little different. Thanks.
