Trying to find black swivel and stationary casters for my Viper boxes.

Powdercoater explained coating the swivel casters could be problematic due to the grease inside where the bearings are. They'd need to be completely cleaned out and even then theres no guarantee all of it would get out. There are also a ton of pieces for the four sets of wheels for my four boxes and pcoating just the wheel yoke, brake kit, raceway and mounting plates has the potential to cost over $300.

So I'm trying to see if there are alternate options out there.

They have to have a 4" x 4/12" mounting plate with diagonal slots.

I've looked everywhere online and all I could find were these Cornwell casters.

Does anyone know anything about these, or what they are normally used on/for? They are supposedly rated at 350lbs each, but the swivel one looks like it's made of of plastic and the steel looks like considerably thinner than the Viper mounting plates.

Does anyone recognize them or have a part number you can share? I want to see if $260 for 4 sets shipped sounds reasonable and if they are durable enough.

I will have to either swap the wheels out with the Viper wheels or maybe that chrome Cornwell die cut cover is removable. I have several new Cornwell US made orange grip plier/wrench sets waiting for the new boxes, so I will have some Cornwell tools, but I guess it would still look wrong unless I pulled the Viper badges off the boxes. :D

Any info would be helpful.

I'm going to guess they came off a cart due to their limited weight.I've got several Cornwell boxes and carts and never had an issue with the wheels.

What exactly do you want to know about them? They're just casters.

Fwiw, no one and I mean no one is going to look at them and then say they look funny on your viper box.

Also. I'm showing those casters listed at $45 several times before the current$49 price. Make an offer of $80 for both sets plus shipping and see what he says

Haha thanks. I wanted to know if the 350lb weigh rating per caster seemed right. All the Cornwell casters I've seen are either the regular silver steel type with the side brake or the shock absorbing type. I'm sure the combined 1,400lb rating would be sufficient for my 41" boxes.

As far as the price, I thought $73+ for combined shipping (when shipping for 4 was $30) was a bit high for 16 casters.

Actually I'm not sure what your looking at. Here is the listing for your pics but the dimensions are different and the spec is 650 per wheel.

If he doesn't accept your offer flag his auction for keyword spamming.

Hmm not sure where I got the weight rating. 650lbs, even better.

Eh, hoping the seller isn't on GJ. I was just trying to see if these were suitable for my application from the experts here at GJ.
