Help identifying this air tool plug

I'm not an expert air tool guy and I could use your help. I have an little air powered vacuum that I picked up. The plug that came with the tool doesn't fit on my hose couplings and so I need to find a replacement plug. I'm guessing the plug is the hi-powered variant because the end has a slightly larger diameter than the ends of my other plugs. But what also has me scratching my head is the threaded side of this plug. You see, the handle on the vacuum is plastic and therefore the plug appears to be a non-tapered thread with a rubber o-ring. So, I think I need a plug matching that thread type but in a low-flow version. I'll attach some pictures. Can anybody help me figure out what I should be searching for online? I'm having trouble finding anything online that looks even close to this plug.

Thanks,
Bryan

Or buy female quick connect and make a short hose adapter that fits your other hoses. I did that for a spray gun that had a high flow on it.

It looks like typical M style, which most tools come with if they come with anything, but the threaded end is shorter.

If you can't easily change it using a universal coupling to connect it to might be your best bet.

Tapered threads into plastic often lead to cracking. So it’s quite common to see straight threads used there instead.

Of course, I personally think tapered threads a a stone age abomination that should no longer exist, but I’m an extremist in my distaste for them.

Look familiar? These appear to have straight threads:

The European air fitting standard is I believe 1/4” BSPP (british standard pipe parallel) as opposed to BSPT, which is the tapered thread version.

BSPP fittings use o-rings. Here’s the McMaster listing:

European Quick-Disconnect Hose Coupling for Air Plug, 1/4 Coupling Size, 1/4 BSPP Male

Very interesting replies, everybody. Thank you! I just ordered a 1/4 bspp male to 1/4 npt female adapter from Amazon to see if it fits. If it does, I'll screw one of my plugs into it. If it doesn't work, I'll try making a small hose adapter or a universal coupling as some people suggested. Thanks, again!

Doing a bit more research on these fittings, it appears that are codified in ISO 6150B, and the common quick connect size is DN7.2, referring to the 7.2mm stem ID.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The port the fitting threads into is NOT part of the standard. This only relates to the ****** and coupling. So you could have this air ****** on a NPT/BSPP, or even a DIN or ISO straight thread metric (ISO 9974 or ISO 6149). In the case of the McMaster fitting (and your air tool) it's almost certainly 1/4 BSPP which is by far the most common for the DN7.2 size.

Thanks again, for everybody's replies and suggestions. I wanted to close this thread properly. The 1/4 bspp male to 1/4 npt female adapter worked wonderfully. That adapter threaded into the tool, and then an industrial style 1/4 npt male Milton plug worked great.
