Help identifying this old bench grinder

While chatting with my step dad yesterday..he mentioned he had an OLD bench grinder his dad used to use years ago. The motor is shot on it, so will need to be rebuilt. But I don't know who the maker is based on the label. I realize it's not the best pic (was taken at night, with all the stuff around it). It had a single shield that rotated down in front of both wheels. You can kind of see the frame of it in the picture. I Think the name of the manufacture starts with a "P" on the tag on the front?

Any ideas?

I can't see the pic for anything but I think some of the old Daytons had some red on the badge. Can you get a better pic?

If the price was right, I wouldn't care about the maker. Grab it and restore the sucker.

I agree that it kinda looks like a Dayton with the oval shaped logo. It would have likely have been made by Doerr, and an excellent grinder. If the motor only needs bearings, I would rebuild it, but if it is indeed "shot", the cost to rebuild it may be beyond its value. Unless it has sentimental value, I wouldn't spend the $$$ to have a motor shop get involved with it...

I'm not at my parents place now..but will ask my dad to pull it out and get some better pics of it. I'm not sure how "shot" it is. Nor what it would cost to get it fixed. But I'll check into it. Thanks for the info guys.. I'll see if my dad can clean it a little bit and send some better pics.

Ok, I got better pictures and more info.. the bench grinder is made by Power Kraft.

Specs are:
1/2 HP
6 1/2 amps

No side to side or vertical play in the shaft, and it spins freely by hand.
I'm thinking it might be a bad switch or bad cord.. Here are some better pics. Any of you head of older Power Kraft bench grinders before?

Check out the little start stop switches over on the left side..and the single shield frame that covers both wheels, that's still on it..

Power Kraft was a Montomery Ward brand. Looks like a 7" DP-15 model.
