I have an opportunity to rehab an old and very abused Parker Vise. The info on the vise is this; Chas Parker no 804-1/2 4-3/4 jaws for pattern. Missing Pipe Jaws. Has Horseshoe, possible movable jaw salvageable.Very rough, brazed everywhere. Tall version big heavy.
I won't have the vise in my hands until next week. The rub is that it is actually minus the spindle and nut. I will be in need of both. Any help actually having a positive ID would be helpful!

Bouncer: instead of starting new threads on your vises you might get better responses by posting the awesome restoration you did on your Wilton by putting before and after pictures in the Vise Repair 101 thread. especially since it looks like you did a fantastic job.

this old Parker i'm guessing is a #88 which is also the same # that Morgan made their vise and Oswego made one like it too. here's a picture of my Morgan 88. there is a huge vise thread you might be aware of that you can post vises on asking the question and some guys only look at that thread that really know their vises and history.

also it looks like you are a new member and welcome to the group. if you have any questions about how the forum works you might want to start an introduction thread and ask and also tell us a bit about yourself.

cheers

Unless you are getting it for next to free, I think I might pass on that one. The compounding of problems really weighs heavy.

I am getting the vise for free. Lots of opportunity to learn. I hope to find a new spindle in the near future. I will redo some of the previous repair work and get the thing solid again.
