Help identifying tools - plumbing and ???

All of this in the picture was in the same drawer of an old toolbox. Most of it I recognize as plumbing stuff. Dies, fittings, washers, etc. But the container on the left is full of nuts and bolts, and has one fat bolt that threads into the middle hole of that silver thing sitting on top of the container. What is that? I can't see how it has anything to do with plumbing, but I can't visualize doing anything with it. Something to do with leverage, perhaps?

In addition to sharing with me the purpose and/or names of tools that stump me, if anyone sees anything in my pics that has more value than what a person might sell it for at a garage sale, I'd very much appreciate it if you would let me know! I'm going to have a garage sale, but later, I am going to put certain things on ebay, as I have much much more than tools I'm looking to part with. For instance, the plumbing items are on an antique Singer sewing machine that I got off CL for my ex wife. When we split, she had a tiny place so she couldn't take them (I have two...the other one is next to it with automotive tools on it...ha)

Haha, my first thought was "for pulling what??" But you gave me enough. Google images just for the word puller, brought this up (among other things)

Unless there's something hiding, I don't see more than about $75 there. The valves are a few dollars each, the torque wrenches maybe $15 (anyone serious about using them will have modern ones, anyone happy with that style will be looking for a bargain) and the planes, judging from the rest, are probably common 1950s or 60s stanley or similar. Nothing special to an antiques collection, and not worth a premium to someone who just needs a plane to use.

I assume you would have mentioned if they meant anything to you. I think you would do well to do $50 for the first person willing to take the whole pile.

Yeah, right now I'm not even in the pricing phase. Just sorting and identifying. I really just want to know if there is anything really hard to find, valuable, etc. So thanks. Certainly nothing on the plumbing or auto table (I haven't even posted the auto pic but realize you could see some of it from the plumbing pic)

In fact, other than maybe the Kennedy tool box, there might not be anything a collector might want. Just want to make sure.

I think I'll post a thread with all pics, then repost pics as I ask specific questions. There are still a few tools I don't recognize.

When I do price the "nothing special" stuff, I'll see what I could buy similar items for, then cut in half. This will be a good compromise and will offer good savings, while not playing the $.50 flea market game.

May have used it to pull old faucet stems, but it doesn't look like the old stem pullers I have seen.

50% off retail would not work out in my area (Houston Texas). Retail on a set of 16" channel lock pliers might be as much as $25. I expect the garage sale crowd will not pay 50%, when there are sales and coupons that would get them there new.

Sorry, did I use the word "retail"? Don't think I did.

I said I'd cut my asking price in half from what I could purchase the item for. So if there are coupons and specials, that would be "what I could buy similar items for" yes??? That's the price I'd discount from.
