MY new to me Ingersol Rand T30 needs a new copper tube from the pump to the tank.
It is an odd copper connection I have not seen before.
can any one let me know where/how to "flare" the new 5/8 copper tube?
or should I switch out the fittings and go with 45 deg flares?

Looks to be a 1/2" double flare. 1/2" copper tube is generally 5/8" OD.
Any hydraulic hose shop should should be able to duplicate it, or you could buy a double flaring tool and make your own.

I have 45 single flare that goes to 5/8"
My double flare only goes to 3/8"

May be cheaper to get 2 flare fittings and nuts.
is there any advantage (on a compressor) to the double over the single (175 psi)

I always just put the nut in a vise and swaged the end of the tube with a ball pein hammer, using the nut as a forming surface.

Just trying to figure out how you are swagging the end to give it that rolled over lip.
The tubing end, the nut (on the tube) and the female fitting (that the tube/nute screw into) have NO angle or flare. The female fitting is a flat bottom whete the "rolled" end of the tubing rest/is compressed. It has a thin "ring/ridge" around the hole to I guess help keep the tube centered.

I have worked with compression, 37 and 45 flares, reverse flare, double flare (brake lines),,, but this is a new one to me.

To me the fitting shown looks like 45 deg double flare In a large 5/8 size. As for replicating it maybe a plumbing supply place could lead you to a crimper? Or just change it to whatever you want. If the tubing is 1/2 inch any sae double flaring tool should work.
