Won a hammer auction recently, just got around to cleaning it up this evening. Originally didn't see any markings.......

As the handle was loose anyhow, I removed it and chucked the head into the lathe to clean up the radiuses. I normally use a DA, starting at about 320 grit and go up to 3000 trizact. Started cleaning up the sides with a drum sander, and then noticed the marking. Anyone know what manufacturer has the CD marking?

Also had picked up this Fairmount about a month ago, cleaned up it's face as well...

Sorry, I can't help with IDing the manufacturer, but let me complement you on your restoration of that fine old hammer; it looks great!

The brand is Peddinghaus Cados. Check out the info in this tread. I have a couple hammers and dollies from them. I'm currently restoring the exact same hammer!

Awesome, thanks! For some reason I was thinking it was a European manufacturer, looks to be high quality.
