Seriously, you guys are impressive. And after reading up on power hack saws, I'm intrigued.

Spongerich, you're close. It's a muffler-bearing press.

I actually still use one similar to that at work. It works well because I can start cutting a slug to machine, then go do something else while it cuts. I catch the offed piece on a sheet of plywood to prevent buggered edges. Mine has a clutch and stops stroking once the cut is made. I have a newer band saw to use, but I have become attached to the old stroker one. Funny thing is, the women at work smile when they see it working.......:pimpflash

Well, put a blade in that thing and kick her on! I sold one similar to a friend many years ago, and he still has it. He rarely turns it on, so I thought of seeing if he would turn it loose, although I have a horizontal bandsaw already.

Ordered a couple of blades from the local steel yard ... TWO months ago.... still waiting....Good thing I'm not in a hurry...
