Allright this is my first time doing something like this and i was just wondering exactly what i need other than the heater, Venting, NGGas Line . i allready have all of these from a really old heater that was in the garage.i guess what i really need to know is do i need a regulator?, and what about electrical do i just plug her into my 110?
My inspector "preferred" to see a dedicated gas line regulator just upline of my new garage furnace. Code did not require it.....I could have cut into the gas line feeding my house furnace AFTER that regulator (essentially there would be a tee after that regulator with the separate gas line running directly out to the garage). Instead, I cut into the gas line coming directly from the meter--prior to where it fed the regulator for the house furnace--and ran a separate gas line to the garage. There I installed the shut off valve, dedicated regulator, and line into the furnace.
(Sorry for long explanation)
Our local code only requires "appropriate disconnect" at the furnace location. That could be either be (1) a metal switch box mounted on the back of the furnace (with a switch), and hardwired via flexible conduit to the dedicated 15A line coming out of the wall, or, (2) a simple 15A appliance cord coming out the back of the furnace which plugs/unplugs from a regular wall recepticle (dedicated 15A). I chose the later for my install.
