HELP... Lighting Option

Hello everyone,

I am looking for illuminating ideas to light up ​a 2 1/2-car detached garage (that has a slanted roof design and a small loft)...

I am thinking of getting nine T8 Recessed Fluorescent Lighting (Length 4ft, Width less than 19 inches) -- I'm looking for the ones that can be installed flushed with the beams (*not hanging). Unfortunately, I cannot find it anywhere... ...Has anyone seen this lighting option?

What is the best type of fixture that will provide me with ample illumination without increasing my electricity bill much? What are the best options for light output, cost, and power efficiency to illuminate a large space​ (in Michigan)​?

The typical recessed fixture is 2' wide for 2 to 4 lamps. There are also 1' wide versions for 2 lamps. They are normally made to be mounted into a grid (t-bar) ceiling. To mount them into a drywall ceiling is possible, but requires considerable framing to box them in. That's why you dont see it done very often.
The most commonly used fixture is some version of a fluorescent strip fixture, usually bare bulbs in either 2 lamp x 4' or 4 lamp x 8' tandem end to end. As far as lumen output, initial cost and energy efficiency, these offer the most bang for the buck.
Factors to consider are ceiling color, ceiling height, wall color, floor color, and of course dimensions. Also you should consider your use of the space. Will you just be parking cars there or will you be working on them, running machinery, doing surgery, making moonshine...etc.....

1x4 2 lamp T8 fixtures for T-bar ceiling should not be hard to find at all,however the frame kits for installing them in a drywall ceiling will likely be only available as a special order item from your local electrical supplier.They are a total ***** PITA to install in the best of conditions,good luck and have fun if you have little to no experience with drywall cutting and hanging flourescent fixtures...
