I need to take the motor (Briggs) and pump from the rusted out frame and put it on a good frame. It has 3 bolts which go through the ears on the pump, through the washer frame and into the motor block. I have removed these. Everything I find on the internet says the pump should now slide right off the crankshaft. But no go. I have pryed and tapped up to a point of fear of breaking something. Any ideas to help me along?? Thanks

Pictures would help us help you.

Well, I like pictures too, but don't have any to post up. Maybe I can get some tomorrow. Really though I don't think a picture is going to show anything to help. The pump is tight up against the bottom the motor. I was hoping someone here had dealt with this model washer. Thanks

is there any opening in the base where you can see the shaft? If so look for a roll pin would be my GUESS. If the base is closed off then it is rust that has welded the two shafts together. I know when we took ours apart to replace the pump, once the 3 bolts came off the pump slid off. In our case the bolts went through the base on the motor, thru the frame, thru the pump and then had nuts. The shaft slid into the pump and it was keyed.

One thing you can do is try to run the model numbers in Google and see if there are any hits. You may find a parts drawing that shows the parts and that may give you some guidance.

Here is where we bought our pump. Maybe you can tell from one of their photos who made yours. http://www.pressure-washer-parts.com/pressure_washer_pumps.asp

You can also look at these pumps and see if any look like yours they maybe a blow up will show how they fit. http://www.ppe-pressure-washer-parts.com/vertical-replacement-pumps

The only possible issue is a allen screw against the keyway. other than that it is just stuck.

Might could try replacing the bolts, leaving them a slightly loose, then running the unit for a short time to see if the loosely bolted pump might shake loose. Depending on how the pump is made, a small hole may have to be drilled near the bolt flange to allow some penetrant to get to the coupled area. This hole could be later plugged with a small stainless steel bolt. Just be sure you are drilling in a harmless area relative to the pump. I have to get very creative with things of this nature in my day job. One of my slogans is "Nothing is ever easy."

this....

Google is good for questions like this, but more info required!

I am aware of google and did numerous searches before posting here. All things seemed to indicate that it should simply slide off once the bolts are out. Mine did not, hence my question here as to whether anyone had worked on one. The ID information is completely un readable. It is a Campbell Hausfield.

I replaced the pump on 5hp generac several years ago. As I recall there is a woodruff key in the shaft. I believe it was just a snug fit as the 3 bolts held it to the base of the motor. I would try and use a can with the straw on it to shoot some penetrating oil on the shaft . Since the base is aluminum you won't want to put much pressure or get too motivated with a hammer.
Good luck.
