Help making a long torx bit socket shorter

I would like to make my long torx sockets shorter
Is it possible to pull the bit from the socket cut it down and put it back on the socket ?

It will probably come right out with use of pliers.


Or order a shorter bit. LOTS of options if it is 1/4" or 5/16" hex.
