I race and we like to use the bumper jacks because they are quick and sturdy on grass/gravel. I am wanting to convert one of these old pump hydraulic bumper jacks to air. I came up with a Walker 99 that is a good donor. I am wondering if anyone with an airjack can tell me if one of these northern tool cylinders will work? If so what else do i need and how to plumb? I measured it and it looks like it will fit perfect. The 24inches lift is perfect w/ the old ram. The ram on the walker i have is toast.

How are the air jacks from the factory so quiet? I guess i would describe the noise when you use them as putting air into a air tank. I feel like the harbor freight deals loud like someone is hammering the handle in rapid fire from the youtube videos i watch.

A lot of cherry pickers are being updated w/ those harbor air/hydraulic units. Wish it would fit inside my frame but it won't. its too big.

So that cylinder i linked doesn't have anywhere on it for fluid storage is that what you are saying?

So i would be better off to rebuild my current cylinder and convert it to air? I have very little to none hydraulic experience so sorry for the elementary questions. i watched a lot of youtube videos and didn't find much help, it was all just people adding the harbor freight unit to a cherry picker or press. It only has to lift about 1000-1200lbs
