Help me cool my shop (mini split)

I just finished building a house and have a 23 x 25 (575 sq/ft) detached garage that I will use as my shop. It is completely foam insulated and I plan to put insulation panels on the garage door as well. Garage door is very well sealed. There is a decked attic above the garage. I am south of Houston, Tx and it is very hot and very humid about 8 months out of the year.

I built this intending to cool it with a mini split but I know nothing about them. Not concerned with heating it. I'd prefer a unit that runs on 110 if possible. I'm not opposed to a DIY if there are quality units, but leaning towards a professional install to make sure it is done right by someone with experience. Don't really have a budget but I want to get a good bang for my buck rather than just buy the most expensive one out there.

So can anyone recommend a good unit and point me in the right direction? Do all of these require the hoses/tubing hanging off the side of the house? My buddy just put in a FRIKKO AVANT (?) and he's got hoses and wires taped together hanging on the side of his garage. Thanks in advance for any suggestions and cost estimates.

Find a few contractors that have some expertise in them and see what they use. I've found that in areas where the mini splits are still uncommon, (I'd assume that would be the case around you) that the installation is highly overpriced simply because they don't know any better and it puts them in unfamiliar bidding territory so they cover their ***. It's a one (short) day job for your shop.
Mitsubishi, Daiken, I believe offer a longer warranty from their approved contractors.
There are plenty of others including LG, but those 2 have been at it for a while.

12k btu = 1 ton unit is largest for 115v. Lines and wiring and be hidden in a pvc line cover. 1 ton unit may not be large enough depends how your using the space and what temp you would like. Brand isn't as important as the contractor / installer.

If your ceiling is low and your garage door stays closed most of the time you might get away with a 1 ton setup, but adding 220 to your garage is a good investment anyway. I went with a Gree+ multi-ton system because the contractor who's quote I went with is a certified installer for them and that gives me several more years of parts warranty on the system. Get a few quotes, go with the one that lines up best.
