I have a friend who has 20 gallons of Rexthane which is at my disposal for a clear coat. My garage is brand new (3months old) 3 car tandem (4 car) with approx. 1200sq ft heated garage.
-I can clean & etch and JUST put a couple coats of Rexthane and thats it (not sure how good it would look).
OR
- go to Lowe's and get 3 kits of Epoxy-Coat and use those and put down 2 coats of Rexthane over that. Hmmmm.
The grage will see some normal wrenching but nothing crazy. Rexthane is from Sherwin Williams which is a moisture cured clear coat. Also I live in Nebraska so I get **** weather (road salt, sand, ect.) http://protective.sherwin-williams.com/detail.jsp?A=sku-26275:product-6872.

Thanks

Rexthane needs an epoxy primer. You can use a SW epoxy and ensure coating compatibility or check with Epoxy coat and make sure it's compatible.

I cannot guarantee anything as far as how the clear coat will hold up, but it can go over our epoxy. Call me at the office and I will give you some specific recommendations on this.

Yeah you want to put a epoxy down first. I used sherwin williams macropoxy than put rexthane over that. Holding up very well. 20 gallons of rexthane will do 9000 sq feet give or take . If you have any extra I will take it off your hands for you, I would like to put another coat down :bounce:!
